NMImETIC NanoBone
Mechanism of action
NMImETIC NanoBone is the first commercial synthetic osteoinductive product in the world in which two mineral and organic phases are in nano-scale. Its organic and mineral phase mimics the structure of natural bone. It is a product, composed of NMImETIC Peptide Nanofibers D (Peptide vial), a synthetic anti-inflammatory, angiogenic, and osteogenic self-assembling peptide nanofibers and nanoceramics (Green Glass Vial), acting as a scaffold. The part of peptide vial is US PATENT US10485895B2. The product is free from surfactants and toxic agents, and since it is entirely synthetic, there is no risk of contamination from a biological source. When NMImETIC NanoBone interacts with bone, it creates a three-dimensional scaffold that fills cracks and repairs defects. Upon contact with bone, it activates the bone surface, leading to exposure of bone biomolecules on the bone surface, stimulating angiogenesis and strong bone regeneration. The results of the clinical trial showed that the bone repair has been done significantly within 3 months, which can significantly reduce the toothless period of the implant patients. On the other hand, this product is radiolucent and does not create false positive results in radiography like allografts and xenografts available in the market, and the process of treating patients without open surgery can be followed.
Application
NMImETIC NanoBone as a scaffold containing synthetic angiogenic, anti-inflammatory, and osteogenic self-assembling peptide nanofibers and nanoceramics enhance bone regeneration through the biological motifs within self-assembling peptide nanofibers and spherical nanoceramics. The biocompatible and biodegradable bone scaffold accelerates bone healing. It is used in patients with damaged bones in areas lacking mechanical loading, such as craniofacial defects.
